Adrian Oetiker
The Swiss pianist Adrian Oetiker is a successful soloist, chamber musician, and sought-after educator. He studied in the master class of Homero Francesch at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste and with Bella Davidovich at the Juilliard School in New York. He received various national awards and scholarships at a young age and achieved success in international competitions. In 1995, he won the «International Piano Competition» at the ARD in Munich. His concerts in Europe, America, and Australia have brought him together with numerous orchestras, including the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, the Symphonie-Orchester des Bayrischen Rundfunks, the Staatskapelle Dresden, and the Irish National Symphony Orchestra. After a European tour with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, he was invited to Australia multiple times. With the Orchestre Symphonique de Mulhouse under Daniel Klajner, he performed all the piano concertos by Béla Bartók. He has played recitals and chamber music programs in prestigious venues such as the Berlin Philharmonie, the Gewandhaus Leipzig, the Festspielhaus Salzburg, and the Teatro La Fenice. He regularly performs in the piano duo Paola & Adrian Oetiker with his wife Paola De Piante Vicin and is the pianist in the Feininger Trio of the Berliner Philharmoniker. His chamber music partners have included Eduard Brunner, Ana Chumachenco, Homero Francesch, Mario Hossen, Wen-Sinn Yang, and others. He has contributed to several ballet productions at the Opernhaus Zürich, the Semperoper Dresden, and the Bayrischen Staatsoper, particularly in collaboration with choreographer Christian Spuck, adding to his diverse activities. He serves as the artistic director of the prestigious International Summer Academy Ettal and has been a professor of piano at the Hochschule für Musik Basel since 1996 and at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Munich since 2011.
