Paul Lightfoot

Paul Lightfoot graduated from the Royal Ballet School in London before joining the Nederlands Dans Theater in 1985. Lightfoot started as a dancer with NDT2. Two years later, he moved to NDT1, where he danced until 2008. Early in his career, Paul Lightfoot began choreographing alongside Sol León.

From September 2011 to August 2020, Paul Lightfoot served as the Artistic Director of NDT. Since 2020, he has been working freelance alongside Sol León. Together, they choreograph and design costumes, sets, and lighting, staging their existing works with companies worldwide. For Stars Like Moths, Paul Lightfoot, together with Sol León, designed the stage set.
