Alina Pronina

Profile

Alina Pronina, born in Kyiv, Ukraine, began her piano studies at the age of five. From 1997 to 2000, she studied at the Glière Conservatory and attended masterclasses with D. Joffe, N. Fisher, B. Goetzke, and L. Berman. In 2006, after five years of study in the class of Prof. Galina Iwanzowa at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin, she obtained her diploma, and in 2008, she completed her concert examination. During her years of study, she was a laureate of many international competitions, including the 1995 «Tradition and Present» competition in St. Petersburg, Russia, the 1999 «Art of the 21st Century» competition in Worsel, Ukraine, and the 2002 International Competition for Young Pianists in Ettlingen, Germany. In 2007, she won the Berlin Steinway Competition, became a scholar of Yehudi Menuhin – Live Music Now, and received the 1st prize with the Trio Some Handsome Hands at the International Competition for Piano Four Hands in Marktoberdorf, Germany.

Several of her chamber music recordings have been released by Brilliant Classics and AMA Records. Alina Pronina has also participated in TV productions for ZDF, RBB, MDR, and ARTE. Since 2009, she has been playing in various theater performances with the Staatskapelle Berlin, the Orchestra of the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Babelsberg Film Orchestra, and the Essener Philharmonikern. Starting from the 2009/10 season, she has been a pianist with the Staatsballett Berlin.
