Beatrice Knop
Beatrice Knop was born in Berlin and received her training as a classical dancer at the Staatliche Ballettschule Berlin. While still a student, she was engaged by the Staatsoper Unter den Linden to perform the role of Myrtha in Giselle. After completing her studies, she joined the Ballet of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in 1991. She was promoted to soloist in 1993 and, for one season in 1995/96, danced as a soloist with the Aalto Ballett Essen. Upon her return to the Ballet of the Staatsoper, she was appointed Principal Dancer after her debut as Odette/Odile in Patrice Bart's Swan Lake. Throughout her entire career, she was entrusted with all major roles and parts of the classical and contemporary repertoire.
Beatrice Knop bid farewell to the stage in 2016 and has since served as Artistic Production Manager in the Artistic Operations Office of the Staatsballett Berlin. Additionally, she works as a ballet mistress, focusing on role studies with the interpreters of the current repertoire, sharing her extensive knowledge.
