Léo Lérus
Léo Lérus was born in Les Abymes. At a young age, he began with the traditional dance "Gwoka" from his homeland of Guadeloupe and later learned contemporary dance and ballet. On the advice of his teacher and mentor Léna Blou, Léo entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Paris at the age of 14 to continue his training as a contemporary dancer. From 1999, he began his professional career as a dancer. He worked, among other places, in England, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Israel in various companies such as the Random Dance Company (Wayne McGregor), the Batsheva Dance Company (Ohad Naharin), and the Sharon Eyal Dance Company (Sharon Eyal/Gai Behar). Léo Lérus is a dance educator, rehearsal director at Sharon Eyal Dance Company, and also an assistant to Sharon Eyal and Gai Behar. He is also active as a freelance choreographer.
