Maren Dey
Maren Dey studied theatre, film, and television studies, modern German literature, and French philology. Since the late 1990s, she has worked as a communications and project manager in film, television, art, and theatre.
She began her career in advertising, PR, and event agencies before joining ZDF in Mainz in 1998 as an editor for the director talent programme Das kleine Fernsehspiel. She later spent several years as a PR manager handling communications for various film festivals and managed press relations for international arthouse films by directors such as Jim Jarmusch, Theo Angelopoulos, Jane Campion, David Lynch, and Claude Chabrol. In addition, she worked as a dramaturge for Stoked Film (Frankfurt), developing screenplays and concepts for various feature films and documentaries.
After a period working in the visual arts, her path led her to the theatre in 2007. She managed a research project on theatre digitisation for the European Theatre Convention, involving seven European stages. From 2007 onward, she held senior marketing and communications roles at major German theatres, including Staatsschauspiel Dresden (2007–2009), Schaubühne Berlin (2011–2016), and Thalia Theater Hamburg (2018–2022).
Since December 2022, Maren Dey has been the head of marketing, communications, and sponsorship at the Staatsballett Berlin.
