The soprano Olesya Golovneva, who has been repeatedly named «Best Singer of the Year», recently celebrated a triumph with her role debut as Turandot at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden. Among her significant engagements are Katja Kabanova at the Staatsoper Hamburg, Les Huguenots at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Rusalka in Madrid, Valencia, Dresden, and Cologne, Il Trittico in Wiesbaden, Otello in Frankfurt, Tatjana in Eugen Onegin in Hamburg, Helsinki, and Cologne. For her interpretation of Rusalka at the Oper Köln, she was nominated for the Deutscher Theaterpreis FAUST. The Staatstheater Wiesbaden engaged the artist not only for the title role of Rusalka but also as the director of the opera. Numerous invitations have taken Olesya Golovneva to the Staatsoper Hamburg, the Finnish National Opera Helsinki, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf, the Semperoper Dresden, the Malmö Opera, the Oper Frankfurt, Munich, Prague, the Wiesbaden May Festival, Bonn, Antibes, and the Zurich Opera House. She has given concerts at the Wiener Musikverein and the Konzerthaus Dortmund. Her recordings include Iolanta with Dmitri Kitajenko on CD, and Luisa Miller and La Bohème on DVD from the Malmö Opera.

The soprano was born in Pskov, Russia, and completed her studies at the St. Petersburg Conservatory and in Vienna under Robert Holl, graduating with distinction. She is a prizewinner of the «Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov Competition» and the «International Singing Competition of 's-Hertogenbosch».

At the invitation of the Staatsballett Berlin, she already appeared on stage at the Deutsche Oper Berlin in 2023 to participate in Christian Spuck's choreography and staging of Verdi's Messa da Requiem.
